Tre Nelson

Lead Paraplanner

Tre is curious about everything and loves any opportunity to learn something new! He has mastered many things, but prefers being a beginner to an expert because the process of learning, researching and practicing a new hobby or topic is so interesting to him. His favorite conversations always deal with exchanging new ideas or information, and he says since discovering financial planning, it eventually leaks its way into every conversation! From a young age he has been fascinated with how money works; he had a job fixing fences as a teen and instead of music, spent that time listening to investment podcasts while he worked.

Tre Nelson attended BYU-Idaho, where he was actively involved with the Wealth Management Society. During that time, he was chosen as the 2020 Harold Evensky Award recipient.

Tre’s love of learning results in his being involved in a variety of activities. He has been a professional auctioneer and a wrestler at a state level. He is a silver/gold smith, an artist and has had his art featured in the Yellowstone Art Museum. He loves hiking, surfing, running, skateboarding, and reading; non- fiction, biographies and anything psychology are his favorites. He recently started rock climbing, and mastering that is next on his already full agenda.

Tre enjoys spending time with his family. He has lived in five different states and is excited to call Utah his home. He loves sushi and Thai food, and served an LDS mission to Las Vegas, where he found his favorite sushi restaurant! Tre likes to share with others what he has learned about finance and says, “There is so much more to life than money. Once money is properly taken care of it opens us up to live life more fully.”
